There are so many household items that we can easily swap out for better quality, less wasteful and oftentimes less expensive alternatives.
Take my new outlook on razors for example. I’ve used some form of a disposable razor for the better part of 16 years. And let’s be honest, everyone hates buying razors. They’re expensive and you know that pretty soon you’re going to need another.
While I live far from a zero waste lifetysle, I try to make small changes where I can. As I grudgingly added “razors” to my recent shopping list, I decided to Google some less wasteful razor alternatives. My search returned a long list of “Safety Razors” and my answer was (very obviously) right in front of me.
Now there’s no turning back. Not only do I basically have a lifetime supply of razor blades, my total cost was about $35. And while disposable razors and razor attachments have built in “moisturizers”, all you need is some coconut oil or lotion and you’re good to go.
