As the Maid of Honor in my best friend’s wedding, I knew i didn’t want to go the cookie cutter route when it came to the Bridal Shower. Planning was well underway and I was ready to get creative. My goal was to add a personalized touch to the invitations that I couldn’t find anywhere else.

Naturally, I browsed the internet to get inspiration for designing my custom Bridal Shower invitation. There were so many options that I’ll admit, I was a bit overwhelmed. Then I saw an invite that would fit the theme of her special day and had the personalized touch I was looking for- but I added my own little twists here and there.

I started with a large square paper card and doilies in both small and large sizes. I folded the doilies as pictured below then attached them to the front of the card. It’s like they were created to make a perfect wedding dress.

To disguise the crease, I glued ribbon around the “waist” of the dress. Then, it was time for the invite info. I found the perfect stamp for the inside of the card where I could list details for the attendees.

I also wanted to dress up the front of the card a bit, so I added an “all you need is love” stamp.

Finally, I looked up some fun ways to address envelopes and used up my last bit of creativity before I sent them out. The finished product was exactly what I wanted- even though I had no idea what I wanted when I started this project.

Multiply all this by 25…and you’ve got yourself a full Sunday afternoon.
